Join Us in Austin for SXSW 2018
March 8, 2018 8:53 amWe’re proud to share that for our seventh consecutive year, we’re are actively engaged in organizing and coordinating the IEEE Tech for Humanity Series at SXSW. IEEE is a highly valued, long-standing client with a very worthy mission, and our series is curated in partnership with SXSW as a part of the official schedule.
This year’s IEEE series at SXSW features more than 18 total speaking events, meetups, parties and a new VR experience that will be showcased at the IEEE booth #523! The IEEE Tech for Humanity Party will feature STEAM Carnival Entertainment from Two Bit Circus. The full schedule is available at http://techforhumanity.ieee.org.
This year, we’re honored to welcome back inventor and philanthropist, Dean Kamen, who will be returning to talk about his new $80M Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI). Join us Sunday March 11 from 11-12 pm at the Hilton Salon H to learn how we’ll soon be able to order custom-made replacement organs, manufactured from our own cells!
We’re also delighted to welcome back Hugh Herr, Co-Director of MITs Center for Extreme Bionics, along with TED sensation, Olympian, Actress, Model Aimee Mullins, and Ottobock Chairman, Professor Hans Georg Naeder. Their panel,“Extreme Bionics: The Future of Human Ability” will focus on the incredible advancements in bionics, optogenetic interfaces and more, which will soon seamlessly connect our bodies to technology like never before — helping humans surpass their own natural limitations. Grab a coffee and start your day with this inspiring session at the Austin Convention Center room 18 ABCD from 9:30 – 10:30 am.
IEEE Quantum Computing Working Group Chair and Strangeworks CEO, Whurley will deliver the Convergence Keynote on the Endless Possibilities of Quantum Computing It’s a must-see session on the future of Quantum, and there will be some great announcements coming.
